A third generation Jerseyman, his great-grandfather came to the island in the mid 19th century, Arthur has been a tourist guide for over 15 years. He gained the internationally recognised Blue Badge in 1997, and is one of a small number of Blue Badge guides in Jersey.

Arthur leads Jersey Tourism's immensely popular Around Island Walk, the highlight of the bi-annual Walking Festivals. Since the Festival's inception in 2001, Arthur has led almost 3,000 walkers around Jersey's 48 mile coastline, some even returning to take part every year!

In April 2008, Arthur was chosen by Jersey Tourism to show five-time Tour de France winner, Bernard Hinault around the island.

Now a full-time guide and writer, Arthur has both a life-time's knowledge of Jersey, and a passion for the island's history, culture and environment.

Here's my personal view of Jersey

" ...we were lucky enough to have Blue Badge Guide Arthur Lamy take us on a three hour cycle tour. This really was a fantastic way to explore parts of the island and our guide provided us with a wealth of information on the history of Jersey and some amusing tales..."

Sarah Mills - Limited Edition Magazine

"...Arthur's breezy, over the shoulder commentaries were the perfect accompaniment..."

Tim Moore - The Observer

"...with Arthur dispensing an amazing array of historical facts and anecdotes at every turn, we cut inland and cycled on..."

Max Bennett - Eastern Daily Press

"...With me is Jersey Blue Badge Guide, author and historian Arthur Lamy. Genial and entertaining, there's more than a touch of Rolf Harris about Arthur, both in the typical soft antipodean-sounding accent and personality. It could be the wide-brimmed Tilly hat that sets off the image, but I mustn't mock - I'm wearing one too!..."

Clive Tully - Pure Jersey

"...There are plenty of places to stop and admire the scenery while Arthur provides a perfect mix of historical facts and anecdotes, highlighting hidden gems like the Fishermen's Chapel that could easily be overlooked..."

Carmel Thomason - Manchester Evening News

"...but my favourite aspect was probably Sunday's walk from St.Brelade to St.Aubin with Blue Badge Guide Arthur Lamy...."

"...filled with information, thanks to Arthur's inexhaustible enthusiasm for his homeland, the final chapter of the trip was a delicious lunch..."

Matt Hurst - Liverpool Echo
