Welcome to Jersey

Jersey has a lot to offer. We have our own money, we make our own laws, and we are not part of the European Union.

Because of its unusual links with Britian, it's a possession of the Crown yet only 15 miles from the French coast, the island exhibits reminders of its turbulent history everywhere.

Jersey was the last of the Channel Islands to be formed. Due to this, and its mild Gulf Stream climate, it is home to many species of flora and fauna that are unique to the island.

Jersey is vibrant and cosmopolitan, the population is a mixture of races and cultures that has evolved over time. Today, you're as likely to meet the ancestor of a Hugeneot refugee, as you are to meet the great-grand daughter of a Breton farm worker who came here in the Sixties.

Great for Walking

For walkers, Jersey is a place that offers a lot of choice in quite a small space. Within a morning you could explore some of St.Helier, the capital, do some beach walking and see a little of the countryside.

Jersey has fifty miles of diverse coastline; billiard table smooth sandy beaches, secluded rocky coves, miles of well maintained cliff paths, awe-inspiring views, little fishing harbours. Around every headland another breath-taking vista awaits you.

Travel inland, and you'll find that Jersey is just as tempting. The island is bisected by five main valleys, most of these are wooded, and have foot paths running beside the valley stream.

Jersey has a labyrinth of tiny lanes, many of these are Jersey's unique speed restricted

Green Lanes, these provide the ideal way to relax and soak up the island's ambiance.
